Customer Review: Monde Nissin

Introduction

Monde Nissin is a leading manufacturer of instant noodles and confectionery products in the Philippines. The company holds the top market share for cookies and instant noodles in the country.

In 2004, the company expanded its production base to Thailand and built its first overseas plant in Chonburi Province. Since then, Monde Nissin has become one of Thailand’s leading cookie manufacturers. Confectionery products, especially cookies and crackers, are particularly popular in Thailand.

To move and store goods efficiently, the company uses UPR’s rental service for pallets and racks. We interviewed Mr. Nathi, Logistics & Warehouse Supervisor at Monde Nissin (Thailand), to discuss how the service was introduced and is currently being used.

Why Monde Nissin Chooses UPR

As a food manufacturer, Monde Nissin focuses heavily on hygiene management for production line equipment. Pallets used to move products must pass strict screening to meet the company’s hygiene standards.

Before adopting UPR’s rental pallets, Monde Nissin encountered these challenges:

• Wooden pallets frequently got dirty when used to move products.
• Production volume fluctuations caused pallet shortages when relying solely on purchased pallets.
• Fragile pallets raised concerns about sanitation control and the risk of foreign material contamination.

Monde Nissin also rents U-Racks (nesting racks) to store and pack products. These racks have helped solve space shortages caused by fluctuating production volumes. Products that couldn’t be stacked with pallet racks can now be stored efficiently, making better use of available space.

Flexible Pallet Rentals to Match Demand

“UPR’s rental service helps us meet production demands during busy periods, like the end of the year or major events,” says Mr. Natee of Monde Nissin. “Our production volume constantly fluctuates based on demand.”

The plant manages and stores food ingredients, packing materials, and finished products separately. To handle this, Monde Nissin uses different types of pallets for specific purposes:

• Red pallets: For food ingredients and finished products.
• Blue pallets: For packing materials.

“We’ve never had a shortage of pallets or racks because UPR provides exactly what we need, no matter how much production increases. Delivery takes about a week after placing a request, but that aligns well with the time we need to prepare storage space in the factory,” Mr. Natee explains.

   UPR’s pallets are sturdy, durable, and easy to clean, unlike fragile pallets offered by other companies. The U-Racks allow effective stacking of products, maximizing space in warehouses and production plants. This has solved many space-related challenges faced by the company.
2. After-Sales Support
   UPR provides excellent support and quick responses to questions. For example, if a requested rack size is unsuitable for the factory, UPR suggests a more appropriate option. Customers can also choose between picking up and returning racks themselves or having them delivered to the site.

Future Plans with UPR

“We’re currently using red and blue pallets, but we’re considering renting green pallets for production lines to improve hygiene management further. We’re also planning to expand our warehouse in the near future. Thanks to UPR’s reliable products and support system, we’ll continue using their rental services,” says Mr. Natee.

Since 2004, Monde Nissin has expanded its production and distribution beyond Thailand to Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, Europe, North America, and Australia. Its popular products include Voiz Crackers, Voiz Waffles, Voiz Mini Cookies, Voiz Waffle Crisps, Sumo Mini Cookies, and Lucky Me instant noodles.
